Abstract Nitric oxide (NO) regulates vascular tone and mitochondrial respiration. We investigated the hypothesis that there is reduced NO concentration in the renal cortex of diabetic rats that mediates reduced renal cortical blood perfusion and oxygen tension (Po2).
